Wayne Michael Irons

DOVER - Wayne Michael Irons, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died on Nov. 30, 2013. He was born Sept. 23, 1941 in Dover, Del. He graduated from Caesar Rodney School, Camden. He was a foreman at General Motors, Boxwood Plant in Newport for many years. He was a party boat captain at Faulkner's Pier and ran party boats out of Bowers Beach and Misspillion. Later he worked and retired from the Delaware Lottery system and Florida Lottery system. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapshooter, and loved playing golf and the banjo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Annabelle Banks Irons of Milford; sister, Linda Irons Donophan; and a step-mother, Anna Elizabeth Irons. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn L. Irons of Port Charlotte, Fla.; son, Wayne M. Irons, Jr., of Clayton; daughter, Stacey Lee (Mikel) Waugh, of Milton; step-son, Richard (Claudia) Hoomans, of Milford; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; brother, Charles (Sandi) Irons, Jr., of Milford; sister, Judith Irons Walls, of Felton; and one step-sister, BettyAnn Havelow, of Felton. Service will be private.
