Wallace B. Starkey

WARWICK, MD - Wallace B. Starkey, of Warwick, Md., passed away on March 1, 2016 at home. Wally was born on May 27, 1947 in Wilmington, Del., son of the late Herman and Edna Mae Starkey. He was raised on several farms in Sudlersville, Md., where he was a 1966 graduate of Sudlersville High School. Wally worked with his father farming and owning, training and driving harness horses. He also worked for Sycamore Nursery, Coopers and Camp Pecometh. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Warwick, and the National Harness Society. Wally enjoyed harness racing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sharon Armbrester Starkey; son, Jason Pragg and his wife, Michelle; a sister, Grace Marie Starkey of Centreville, Md.; and three granddaughters, Devan, Dakota and Dalyce Pragg all of Fairlee, Md. A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, where a celebration of life will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be held privately in Templeville Cemetery. www.galenafuneralhomeofsls.com
