HARRINGTON - W. Norris Jarrell, 84, of Harrington passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Bayhealth @ Kent General Hospital in Dover. He was born in Ridley, Md., the son of the late J. Boone and Mildred Norris Jarrell. He was a machine operator for General Foods in Dover. He was a member of the Trinity U.M. Church, past officer and member of the Harrington Lions, past member of Shawnee Country Club and member of Frederica and Milford Senior Center. He was an avid golfer, cribbage player, and avid bridge player. He also enjoyed gardening and wood working. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Reba Smith Jarrell; daughter, Lisa Nichols and husband, John of Sea Isle City, N.J.; one brother, J.B. Jarrell of Denton, Md; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Patsy Smith of Felton; nephew, Marvin M. Smith of Orlando, Fla.; niece, Isabel Tomer and husband Lewis of Mentor, Ohio; and his dog, Mitzi. Funeral Services will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Greenwood Mennonite Cemetery, Greenwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Attn: Sandy Leigh, Delaware Humane Society, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
