MILFORD – Virginia P. Thompson, of Milford, passed away at Bayhealth Milford Memorial on Monday, May 9, 2016. Virginia was born in Bridgeville to the late Hilton J. and Lulu Russell Penuel. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and doing puzzles. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Thompson, Jr.; and a daughter, Peggy Thompson. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Thompson; and son, James Thompson and his wife Shirley; grandchildren, Johnna Fry and Jamie Thompson; great-grandchildren, John Michael Joseph and Jaelin Elizabeth Turner; and a sister, Irene Martin. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1 p.m., where friends may call for a time of visitation at 12 noon. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Viriginia's memory to Sardis United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4, Frederica, DE 19946.
