DOVER - Virginia Mae Goldsborough entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 9, 2009, at her daughters residence in Dover. She was born in Mt. Airy, N.C., Sept. 5, 1923, to the late Authur and Elma Joyce. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She gave her heart and soul to the lord Jesus Christ by saying whispering prayers for her family and for those she came in contact with. She was employed as a factory worker and a domestic cleaner. Virginia was a devoted member for over 40 years Eion African Methodist Church. Her love for people was very evident, through her prayers, concern and thought for everyone. Those left to cherish her memories are her beloved sons, Norman (Macey) Goldsborough Jr., John (Pam) Goldsborough, Bobby Goldsborough and David Goldsborough, all of Camden; daughters, Janet (John) Wesley, Rosemary (Robert) Chandler, Bernice Goldsborough, and Margaret Goldsborough; grandchildren, Norman Jr., Darnell Campbell, Melodie Goldsborough, Amira Chandley, and Christine Lawrence; eight great-grandchildren, Dion Campbell (Charman) Campbell, Ishia Campell, Tiera, Ishiara, Kaila, Imia, and Earianna; a very devoted niece, Lorraine Harris; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 West Division Street, Dover, where a viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 13, and Saturday two hours prior to service. Elder Robert Chandler will officiate.
