Virginia Lee Lister, 78

DOVER - Virginia Lee Lister, of Dover, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 78. She was born on Oct. 3, 1930, in Burnsville, W.Va., daughter of the late Leroy Williams and Ocie (Posey) Williams. Virginia enjoyed life as a homemaker and her hobbies including cooking and flower gardening. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by four children, Terry Mello, Grace Drake, Joe Byrnes and Paul Byrnes. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, George Lister; four grandsons, Chris Mello, Tim Mello both of Dover, Eric Mello of Harrington and Ken Drake of Ft. Wainwright, Ala., nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Williams and Robert Williams both of Woodside; three sisters, Rose Eveners of Pittsford, Mich., Betty Pace of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ruth Hacker of Wyoming. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
