MEDFORD, N.J. - Violet I. Hillman (nee Greenwood, of Medford, formerly of Haddonfield and London, England, passed away on May 12, 2009, in her 90th year. Violet was a "war bride" who met her husband when he was a GI serving in England during World War II. She was a real trooper who overcame many obstacles during her life. Violet was known for her kind heart and loving manner. She was loved by all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late Carlton. Loving mother of Richard (Karen), of Costa Mesa, Calif., Louise (Jeffrey) Baron, of Medford, N.J., and Hope (John) Ellsworth, of Lewes, Del. Violet's family will receive friends Saturday afternoon June 6th from 2:30-3:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 E. Kings Hwy., Haddonfield, NJ 0803. Services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Interment private. Memorial donations in Violet's name may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053. Arrangements by Kain-Murphy Funeral Services of Haddonfield.
