MARYDEL - Victoria Viola Walker of Marydel died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in her home.

Mrs. Walker was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Boleslaw and Czeslawa (Kowalski) Krysiak.

She was schooled in the Polish community of Wilmington.

Mrs. Walker owned and operated Walker's Superette of Dover with her late husband. They also had several other convenience stores in Odessa and Smyrna. They farmed in the Smyrna, Kenton and Hartly areas, and owned and trained harness race horses, too.

She was a previous member of Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and the Modern Maturity Center, where she worked in food service. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a part of the cleaning crew.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, William Warren Walker, on April 5, 1983; and one son-in-law, Orville Halliday.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Halliday of Hazlettville, and Charlotte Dixon and husband Donald of Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Michael Halliday of Vadis, W.Va., Patricia Brown of Hazlettville, Gary Halliday of Camden, Cynthia Pink of Milford, Kimberly Minnich of Chester Spring, Pa., Kendall Dixon of Milford, and Glenn Dixon of Camden; 13 great-grandchildren, Cindi Brown, Robin Blocker, Megan Pink, Justin Pink, Crystal Mayhall, Emily Halliday, Amanda Halliday, Daniel Halliday, Skyler Halliday, Victoria Minnich, Caroline Minnich, Garrett Dixon and Jack Dixon; and a great-great-granddaughter, Brianna Love Blocker.

A memorial Mass will be Monday, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marydel.

Private burial will be in Greensboro (Md.) Cemetery.
