DOVER - Victoria Elizabeth Cajthaml passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018.
Victoria was born on Aug. 3, 1925, in Hadley, Mass. and graduated from Hopkins Academy. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Misch) Mazur. Victoria moved to Delaware in 1954 with her husband and family. She has been a member of Holy Cross Church for 64 years. Victoria spent many hours transporting baseball, basketball and cheerleading teams during the early years of Holy Cross.
Victoria enjoyed traveling with her family throughout all of North America. She was a great navigator and often kept her husband on the right path. The love of fishing whether while traveling or on the Delaware/Maryland coast was a big part of her life. She would out fish her family members on a regular basis. She excelled at gardening and was especially proud of her beautiful red hibiscus. During the summer months she loved swimming in her pool with her grandchildren and trips to Assateague Island.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1999; her daughter, Elizabeth A. Thompson in 2006; her daughter, Laura J. Thomas in 2009; and a great granddaughter, Zoe Elizabeth Pinkerton in 2012.
She is survived by her son, Albert Jr., and his wife Christine of Camden; and a sister, Statia Skwira of Haydenville, Mass. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kimberly Simmermon of Navarre, Fla., Candace Mitchell of Pensacola, Fla., Jennifer Pinkerton of Magnolia, Jamie Tonkin of Dover, Melissa Cajthaml of Camden, and David Thomas of Portland, Mich. and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover where friends may call at 9:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear at 1 p.m.
The family would like to thank Susan and Brooke Borntreger and Delaware Hospice for their excellent care.
