GEORGETOWN - Verna Mae Workman, of Georgetown, passed away on Dec., 2, 2010, at Atlantic Shores Nursing and Rehabilitations in Millsboro. She was 91. In years past, she had been an active member of Mt. Olivet Brethren Church in Georgetown. She also was a member of the Women's Missionary Society, and Delaware Extension Homemakers Club. Along with her husband Dale, she helped run Workman's Store. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed Crocheting, and made afghans for children and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Levin A. & Susie Friedel Williams; and her husband of 70 years, Dale Workman who passed away on June 1, 2007. She is survived by her children, Rosalie S. Brewington, of Georgetown, Joyce A. Harrell of Georgetown, Janice LaPrad and husband John of Georgetown, and Karen W. Mumford and husband Stephen, of Millsboro; one brother, Levin A. Williams Jr. of Seaford; one sister, Sturgis M. Lowe also of Seaford; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great- great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 6, 2010, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street Millsboro, where friends may call 1 hour prior. Pastor Jerry Fike will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Mt. Olivet Brethren Church, 28096 Shortly Road, Georgetown, Delaware. Interment will be in Millsboro, Cemetery, Millsboro, Delaware. Arrangements by, Watson Funeral Home Millsboro, Delaware.
