Verna M. Trump

Trump, 62 HARTLY - Verna M. "Dukes" Trump, of Hartly, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at home. She was 62. Verna was born Sept. 22, 1949, to the late Vernon McNelly and Thelma Foraker in West Chester, Pa. Verna was a homemaker, and drove school buses for 20 years for a school district in New Castle Co. and then an independent bus company after moving to Dover in 1983. Her hobbies included gardening, and was a former member of the master gardeners club, yard sales, collecting angels, and pottery, among other things. She is remembered as a loving wife and mother. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis D. Trump IV, who died in October of 2011. Mrs. Trump is survived by her children, Curtis D. Trump V and Rhonda Trump, both of Hartly; two brothers, Roy McNelly Sr. and his wife Cindy of Thomaston, Ga., Henry "Butch" Alters, of Wilmington; three sisters, Deborah Stevens and her husband Robert of Wilmington, Ruth Gleason and husband Dwayne of Myersville, Md., and Brenda Strain of Hertford, N.C.; Mrs. Dottie Flagg beloved cousin, Berlin, N.J.; and sister-in-law, Connie Trump of Lewes. In addition, Verna is also survived by her best friends, Bruce and Kathleen Robinson of Dover; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The celebration of Verna's life will be held at the family's home, 171 Green Briar Rd., Hartly, DE 19953, at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
