MILLINGTON, Md - Verma Della Sizemore of Millington died Sunday, March 4, 2007, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 103.
Mrs. Sizemore was born in Goldsboro, Md., the daughter of the late Demon and Annie Wilkerson.
Mrs. Sizemore worked for many years for the Vita Foods Company and Campbell Soup Co. in Chestertown.
For many years, she was very active in the Graves Chapel Church, Millington, where she served as the Pastors aide.
She enjoyed singing in the church choir and served on the usher board.
Mrs. Sizemore was well-known for the hats she wore, and she loved to dress up for most any occasion. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and loved flowers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Sizemore; a daughter, Fern Rodgers; two grandsons, Ronald Downes and Wayne Sullivan; five brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Pearl Clark of Wilmington and Florence Wright of Millington; two sons, Eugene Rankins of Millington and Emerson Sparks of Salem N.J.; one brother, Milford Wilkerson of Wilmington; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 60 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Graves Chapel Church, Millington, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Goldsboro, Md.
Arrangements by the Fellows Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, Millington.
