FREDERICA - Valerie H. Baier, of Frederica, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at her residence, with her family at her side. Her age was 70.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Helen (Lotosky) Baier.
Ms. Baier held a bachelor's degree in education and was serving as an elementary school teacher with the Providence Creek Academy, Clayton, until disability caused her absence since December 2007.
She was a member of the Milford Grange and was the former choir director at Calvary United Methodist Church.
Throughout the years she was involved with local theatre groups, especially the Patchwork Playhouse and Community Singers.
Ms. Baier was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening and raising fresh water fish, and was especially fond of traveling.
She will be missed by the many lives she touched.
She is survived by four children, Athena E. LeBeau and her husband Dale of Houston, Dorian H.M. Klaus of Milford, Adam R.W. Klaus and his wife Michelle A. of Pascoag, R.I., and Joseph B. Klaus of Camden; her foster daughter and her family, Daniella Hunt and her husband, David, and their children, Jason and Jessica, all of Marydel; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara A. and Edward Kuebler of Medford, N.J.; 12 grandchildren, Shane LeBeau, Ryan LeBeau, Tiffany LeBau, Kyle LeBeau, Tanner Klaus, Bryce Kenton, Ainsley Kenton, Kaden Kenton, Phoebe Klaus, Joseph Green, Alyssa Klaus and Brittany Dundas; a great-grandchild, Austin LeBeau; and two nieces, Annie and Elizabeth Kuebler.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Friday, followed by burial in the Milford Community Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reeds Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
