Valentine W. "Val" Miller, 88
GREENWOOD - Valentine W. "Val" Miller of Greenwood died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near his home. He was 88.
Mr. Miller was born July 6, 1919, in Defiance, Ohio, son of the late Jeremiah S. and Nancy S. Miller, the eighth of their 11 children who survived infancy.
He was a member of Laws Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Polly Miller; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Sanford and Ronni Miller of Indianapolis, Eldon Miller of Calion, Ark., Dennis and Camilla Miller of Brooklyn Park, Md., Alan Miller of Belleville, Pa., and Kevin and Donna Miller of Chillicothe, Ohio; two daughters and a son-in-law, Connie and Daniel Bawel of Greenwood, and Kathleen Miller of Chesapeake, Va.; a foster son, Marty Coughlin of Dover; three sisters, Esther Miller of Greenwood, Bertha Bowers of Kingman, Ariz., and Elsie Russell of Milford; 15 grandchildren; and 10` great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Greenwood Mennonite School, immediately following which, a time of sharing will be held.
Celebration of Life service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Greenwood Mennonite School.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Shepherds Village Int"l Inc., c/o Wilmington Trust Co., Stein Highway, Seaford, DE 19973; or to Laws Mennonite Church, c/o Dale Jones, 125 Schlabach Road, Greenwood, DE 19950.
