BRIDGEVILLE – Truitt W. Wagner passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 20, 2016. Truitt was born at home in Greenwood and had lived in the Milford Neck area for many years. Truitt worked in equipment line maintenance at the Chrysler Plant in Newark for 35 years, retiring in 1999. After he retired, he began working as a Janitor with Delaware Tech in Georgetown where he worked until he became ill in October. Truitt was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Truitt, and her companion Samuel "Cookie" Cook, of Frederica, who was like a father to him. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Western movies and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved going to the beach, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also attended Chaplains Chapel UM Church. Truitt is survived by his wife, Barbara (McColley) Wagner; two children, Randy Wagner and his wife Noreen, of Bridgeville, and Teresa Lamb, of Milford; five grandchildren, Dylan and Riley Wagner, Candice and Alysa Lamb, and Allen Cane; a great granddaughter, Cheyenne Bowman; and two siblings, Doris Clendaniel, of Dover and Bud Wagner, of Harbeson. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 NW Front Street, Milford where friends may call Thursday evening from 6 – 8pm. Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Nanticoke Cancer Center, 701 Middleford Road, Seaford, De 19973 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Suite 2, Georgetown, De 19947.
