Thurman Leroy Hitchens

MILLSBORO - Thurman Leroy Hitchens, 80, passed away on Jan. 4, 2011. Thurman retired from Perdue Farms. He was a Korean War Veteran, he was awarded the UN Service Medal, and three Bronze Stars. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joshua and Mary E. Harmon Hitchens Sr.; his son, Larry Johnson; and his grandson, Shariff Johnson. He is survived by his sister, Louise Adkins, of Millsboro; a special niece, Tambra Stewart; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, were friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Rev. Sam Dennis will officiate. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
