HARRINGTON - Thomas Odell "Tom" Crawford passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018. He was born in West Virginia to the late Elwood and Ruth Crawford.
Tom graduated from Fayetteville High School (WV) in 1957 and attended Beckley College.
Tom was proud of his work as a Purchasing/Materials Manager with most of his career at Black & Decker and other companies in Texas and New Jersey. He was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church, Houston.
Tom enjoyed watching football, college basketball, as well as golfing and fishing. He coached girls and women's softball and basketball for many years and was president of the Sports Booster at Westminster High School in Maryland. Tom enjoyed cooking and smoking meat, especially ribs. Though Tom liked to joke with people, he could be quick to anger, yet quicker to forgive without holding grudges. Tom was very devoted to his whole family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Gorsuch Crawford; daughter, Kelly Crawford, and partner, Rebecca Micozzi; sisters, Rosemary Blankenship (Art) and Patricia Callahan (Bill); several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and granddogs, Casey, Emma and Madison.
Memorial services will take place at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at 1 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home on one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or Wounded Warriors on their respective websites.
Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc., Harrington. Visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to sign condolence book.
