Thomas M. Sklencar Sr., 63 DOVER - Thomas M. Sklencar Sr., of Dover, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at home. He was 63. Tom was born June 2, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late John Sklencar and Mary Beno Sklencar. He served in the United States Army. Tom retired from Budd Company (UAW) after 30 years and was enjoying his retirement. He had worked part time with USPS Little Creek Branch and worked seasonal with DART transportation. Tom enjoyed cruising especially to Bermuda with his wife Jane and friends. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan especially the Eagles, he also enjoyed collecting coins and Hess Trucks. Tom was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Moore's Meadows Men Breakfast Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhnea Sklencar. Tom is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jane Hause Sklencar of Dover; his son, Thomas Michael, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Horsham, Pa.; daughter, Andrea Rathbone and her husband Daren of Milford, N.H.; brothers, John and Joseph Sklencar, both of New Jersey; grandchildren, Thomas M., Sklencar, III, Soleil A. Sklencar, Colin J. Rathbone and Colby J. Rathbone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19157. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
