HARRINGTON - Thomas J. "Jr." Welch, of Harrington, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He was 77. He was born in Harrington. He was a salesman for Canteen Vending Corp. for 34 years retiring in 1996. He was past president of the Greenwood Vol. Fire Company, a member of the Peninsula Blue Grass Assoc., and a member of the Bakery and Confectioners Union. He enjoyed bluegrass music, dirt track racing, NASCAR racing and camping. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mildred E. Kemp Welch; children, Ricky Welch and his wife, Christine of Bridgeville, Sandy Sorrells and her husband Larry of Bridgeville, Vicki Welch Evans of Lewes, and Susan Welch and her companion Glenn Hayman of Harrington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to: Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Millsboro, DE 19966. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Felton.
