CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Thomas Edward Hutchins Sr. of Chestertown died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. He was 69.
Mr. Hutchins was born Feb. 16, 1937, in Ingleside, son of the late William Joseph and Minnie E. (Henry) Hutchins.
He attended Lockerman High School, Denton.
Mr. Hutchins was a member of Local Union 435 and New Union United Methodist Church, Goldsboro. He was a trustee for the church as well as a former chairman of the trustee board. He also sang with the church choir and the United Methodist Senior Choir.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Alvin O. Hutchins, Samuel N. Hutchins and Shirley A. Wright.
He is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Lucille "Shelly" and Wyatt Brown of Dover, Del., and Delores "Vanessa" Hutchins and Della Moore, both of Easton; a son and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Mary Hutchins of Chestertown; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, William and Dorothy Hutchins of Chestertown, Charles and Mary Hutchins and Allen L. Hutchins, all of Dover, and Ronald and Jedina D. Hutchins of Hartly, Del.; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, the Rev. Phyllis Duckery of Marydel, Vivian and Walter Johnson and Gloria Joyce and William Brown, all of Goldsboro, Cynthia and Peter Demko of Weymouth, Mass., and Dorothy Hutchins of Salisbury; an uncle and his wife, Elder William and Mary Henry of Chester, Pa.; two aunts, Zelva Dyer and Elsie Henry, both of Wilmington, Del.; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in New Union United Methodist Church, Goldsboro.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the church.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Goldsboro.
