RIDGELY, Md. - Thomas Donald "Donnie" Towers passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at Memorial Hospital at Easton surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 18, 1934 in Ridgely to the late Claude H. and Elva B. Snowberger Towers. Mr. Towers was graduate of Ridgely High School. He had been a sheet metal fabricator for Dover Air Force Base retiring in 1990 after 35 years of service. He was an avid reader, enjoying Westerns the most. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Weigand; brothers, Bucky Towers and Bob Towers; and son-in-law, Dale Greenwood. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Blunt Towers; five children, Michelle Ann Greenwood of Wye Mills, Michael K. Towers and wife, Patty of Ridgely, Glenn Towers and Pam Detweiler of Greensboro, Wendy Sue Towers and Mason Denny of Ridgely, and Christopher Towers and wife, Jane of Greensboro; sister, Bonnie Passwaters of Ridgely; two grandchildren, Tommy D. and Kristen E. Towers; a foster son, Gale Dean of Hartly; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Towers will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 in the Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro, Md., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the funeral.
