GEORGETOWN - Thomas D. Clarke of Georgetown and formerly of Felton died suddenly Saturday July 21, 2018. Tom was an avid and gifted horseman, trainer and driver. He loved the harness racing business and the many people involved in the sport. He always enjoyed just going to the races with good friends.
Tom graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1973 where he participated in wrestling and baseball. He learned the skill of horse shoeing and was active in the trade for some time. Tom's main interest was in training and driving for his family's harness racing business.
Tom became involved in Teen Challenge in his later life, and it was through this organization he found the Lord. His life changed forever and thereafter was guided by Jesus Christ. His outgoing personality and generous spirit made him a friend to all and an inspiration to many.
Tom is survived by a son, Christopher David Clarke of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Marianne Hayes, her husband Paul Hayes of Ocean View; and sister, Cynthia Thorn, her husband Henry Thorn of Felton. Tom will be missed by his loving family and friends and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Victory Tabernacle Church of God, 28261 Seaford Road, Laurel on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. Family requests in lieu of flowers, consider donation to Delmarva Teen Challenge, 611 3rd Street, Seaford, DE 19973.
Arrangements by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington. Letters of condolence may be sent and shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com
