Theresa Sturnialo

Theresa Sturnialo, 83 DOVER - Theresa Sturnialo, 83, of Dover, died Feb. 19, 2010, at Courtland Manor Nursing Home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Todisco. In her earlier years, Mrs. Sturnialo had worked as a hairdresser but had mainly dedicated her life as a homemaker. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking for family and friends. In her quieter moments she enjoyed Sewing and Arts and Crafts. She had a special place in her heart for her pets and in general loved animals. She was a kind and considerate person who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Sturnialo, who died in 2007. Mrs. Sturnialo is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Iacone and husband Philip of Dover, Teresa Palumbo and husband Domenick of Staten Island, N.Y.; two sons, Peter and wife Nancy of Staten Island, N.Y., and Anthony of Dover; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, S. State St., Dover. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island, N.Y. Condolences and Guest Book signings may be made via www.ambruso.com.
