Theresa D. "Terry" Tarr Nickerson, 60

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Terry Nickerson of Chestertown died of cancer Friday, June 29, 2007, the day of her 39th wedding anniversary, in her home. She was 60.

Mrs. Nickerson was born in Queen Anne, daughter of Marion Emerson Tarr of Grasonville and the late Elsie Mae (Gardner) Tarr.

Following high school, she graduated from beauty school.

She worked in several local salons. She wanted a career change and decided to teach herself how to type just prior to beginning her career with the Chestertown Bank. For 28 years, she worked her way up with the bank, serving in many positions. Prior to her illness, she was serving the bank as an assistant vice president for bank secrecy.

Mrs. Nickerson loved riding her Harley-Davidson with her husband and their friends. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking and crafts. She also enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amy Lee Nickerson.

She is survived by her father, Marion Emerson Tarr of Grasonville; her husband, Richard Nickerson; a daughter, Amy Leigh Nickerson, and her fiancée, Brian Nesspor, both of Rock Hall; a son and a daughter-in-law, Dickie and Beverly Nickerson of Chestertown; a brother and a sister-in-law, Emerson Jr. and Diane Tarr of Easton; two granddaughters, Emmie Nickerson of Chestertown and Madison Anne Hanyok of Rock Hall; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Nickerson of Chestertown.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Monday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Chester Cemetery, Chestertown.
