DOVER - Theodore Paul Bobola Sr., of Dover, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at his home, with family. He was 81.
Mr. Bobola was born June 29, 1926, on Long Island, N.Y. He moved to Delaware from Long Island in 1955 and started farming.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Dover, Delaware State Grange since 1970 and Delaware Farm Bureau for 25 years, and received the Family Farm of the Year award in 2000. He was also a member of the Wilmington Alley Cats.
Mr. Bobola is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen F. Bobola of Dover; son and his wife, Theodore P. Jr. and Maria Bobola of Dover; daughters, Mary Ellen Bobola of Dover, Paula and Chris Zimmerman of Magnolia, Carolyn K. Bobola-Smith of Kenton, Beverly Neuman of Minnesota and Janet and Scott Butler of Magnolia; sister, Helen Dubois of Raven, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Kathy Dixon.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
Remembrance services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Christ Church Yard, Dover.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice, 911 Lotus Plaza, Dover, DE 19901.
