BRIDGEVILLE - Theodore "Ted" Russell passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and friend. He is the son of the late Floyd and Hilda Russell. Ted was blessed with a large family who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie J. (Wolfgang); two sons, Michael Sturdavant (Joyce Lea) and Randy Sturdavant (Gail); six grandchildren, Annette Jones (Mark), Michael Shane Sturdavant (Holly), Marcy Medford (Bill), Kim Grim (Pete), Renee Moffa (Matt), and Christy Burgo (Lester); ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Joan R Adams; and one nephew, Edward Russell Adams (Taylor). He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Sturdavant.
Growing up on a farm, Ted started farming as a child. Throughout his life, his sister, Joan, was always his best friend. Ted attended Woodbrigde High School. After graduation Ted spent time driving a tractor trailer, served in the Army National Guard, and dedicated his life to full time farming. Over the years, Ted made many friends. His farm employee of 26 years, Dave Givens, will truly miss him.
There will be a private family memorial and celebration of life service.
The family suggests contributions in Mr. Russell's memory to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to In Touch Ministries, PO Box 7900, Atlanta, GA 30357.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.
