DOVER, Del. - The Reverend Mr. Harry T. Baxter went to his heavenly home on April 12, 2022, after a valiant fight with the complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was born on September 14, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pa. to Harry and Margaret Baxter.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louanna Baxter, of Dover, Del.; his two sons, Andrew Baxter, and his wife Margaret, of Maynard, Mass., and Jeffrey Baxter of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his two grandsons, Chad Breichner and his wife Melanie of Abingdon, Md., and Alexander Baxter of Glendale, Calif.; his great-grandson, Bennett Breichner; his sister, Jane Daggett and her husband, William of Malvern, Pa. He was also the proud cousin and uncle of numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Harry served as a pastor in the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church for 39 years. Upon his retirement in 2003, he and his wife relocated to Delaware. He then served as the Minister of Visitation for 8 years for Wesley United Methodist Church of Dover.
Harry has donated his body to the Anatomy Board of Maryland.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2 p.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State Street, Dover, Del. Friends may visit one hour prior.
Memorial gifts may be made to Wesley UMC in Dover or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.
