Sydney A. Kaufman

Sydney A. Kaufman, 63 SMYRNA - Sydney A. Kaufman, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, in her home after a long illness. She was 63. Sydney was born December 16, 1946 in Cambridge, Md., to the late Troy and Dorothy Ashcraft. Sydney was an avid duplicate bridge player, where she met her husband of 24 years. She studied nursing at John's Hopkins and became an RN. Sydney also enjoyed the beach, especially Aruba, excelled in decorating, lived for her family, and loved to shop. Sydney is survived by her husband, Andrew Kaufman of Smyrna; son, David Dulany of Greenville, S.C.; brother, Steve Ashcraft of Salisbury, Md.; and sister, Susan Frei of Burke, Va. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Wicomico Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in her memory to Heartland Hospice Services, 261 Chapman Rd., Suite 100, Newark, DE 19702.
