Anderson - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sydney James Ingle, who peacefully left this world on June 11th, 2024.
Syd was born on February 5th, 1953, in Newfoundland, Canada and was lovingly welcomed into the family of the late Ernest and Ruth Ingle. Growing up in Magnolia, DE, Syd was an accomplished student athlete at Dover High School as an outstanding baseball pitcher. He continued his passion for the sport at Bryan College in Dayton, TN before pursuing an MBA at the University of Southern Illinois. Syd dedicated more than 30 years of his life to a successful career at Celanese, where he excelled in finance and new business development. Throughout his professional journey, he lived in various states from NC, TX, and NJ and even overseas in Saudi Arabia.
On August 16th, 1975, Syd exchanged vows with his beloved Linda Coulson Ingle, and they were soon to commemorate 49 years of marriage this August. Syd was a devoted husband, loving father of two sons, Tim (Jill) and Mark, and proud grandfather to six grandchildren. In his leisure time, he found joy in living at Kure Beach, sharing cherished moments with his grandchildren, and giving back through volunteer work supporting children in math, Meals on Wheels, and volunteering at Lifepoint Church. Syd's memory will endure through his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a caring father,
a faithful Christian and hard-working individual. Sydney will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Syd's life will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel in Anderson, SC. The family will greet friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Hospice of the Upstate https://hospiceoftheupstate.com/ in Syd's honor.
May he find eternal rest.
