Sussex Technical Adult Education celebrates Apprenticeship Week

GEORGETOWN — Nov. 13-19 is National Apprenticeship Week and Sussex Tech Adult Ed is celebrating.  

An apprenticeship program combines on-the-job training with trade-related classroom instruction.  

Sussex Tech Adult Ed is the sole provider of Delaware’s Department of Labor’s Registered Apprenticeship training in automotive tech, carpentry, electrical, electrical systems tech, heavy equipment operator, HVAC, plumbing, and welding. 

In recognizing National Apprenticeship Week, Sussex Tech Adult Ed, with the support of some of its business partners, are celebrating the students enrolled in the apprenticeship program.  In addition to Chick-Fil-A dinners twice during the week, they are holding drawings for free tools.   

The business partners who helped to create the National Apprenticeship Week celebration include: AP Croll, Comfort Plus Services, Crescent Tools, Crystal Steel Fabricators, Denney Electric, General Refrigeration, Lane Builders, MDavis, Mid Atlantic Electrical, Preston Auto, George Sherman Corporation, Shore Distributors, and United Electric.
