GALENA, Md. - Sue Ellen Leager, of Galena, Md., passed away on December 18, 2014 in Compass Regional Hospice Center, Centreville, Md. She was 72. Mrs. Leager was born on August 24, 1942 in Jefferson City, Mo., daughter of the late Frank and Mae Crum. She earned her Masters of Education from Arkansas State in 1964. In 1973 she moved to the Eastern Shore, working for H & R Block and the Postal Service in Ingleside and Church Hill. In 1984 she began her 23 year career with Queen Anne's County Department of Aging, retiring as the Administrative Director. Sue was also active with her husband in operating Buena Vista Farm. She was a member of Price Bethany United Methodist Church. Mrs. Leager is survived by her husband of 30 years, William David Leager; five children, William Christopher Leager (Mary Ann) of Middletown, Del., K. Paul Lucas (Ann-Marie) of Kennedyville, Patricia Annette Moore (William) of Trappe, Md., David Wade Leager of Denton and Sharon E. Clark (David III) of Church Hill; a sister, Virginia Mahan of W. Va; and 11 grandchildren, Charity Leager, James Leager, Katryna Cote, Zola Mae Lucas, Kenneth Ryan Lucas, Makayla Moore, Madison Moore, Cassie Ann Leager, Stephen Wade Leager, Elizabeth A. Clark and Maranda L. Clark. A viewing will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in Kennedyville United Methodist Church, Kennedyville, Md. Burial will follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery, Kennedyville.
