FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Steven R. Brown peacefully died Monday, July 18, 2011, at his home near Federalsburg, surrounded by his loving family. He was 51 years old. Born in Dover, on April 30, 1960, Steve was the son of the late William Irvin Brown and Edna Marie Rash. He moved to Caroline County, Md., in 1991 and married his wife, Linda M. Brown on Aug. 3, 1994. Steve was a self-employed contractor with his company, Chesapeake Restoration. He loved playing golf with his friends for which he was a member of the Heritage Shores Golf Club in Bridgeville, and a past member of the Choptank River Yacht Club in Denton, Md. Most of all he loved vacationing in Aruba every year with family and friends as he considered this his home away from home. In addition to his wife, Linda, Steve is survived by two sisters, Diane Schulties and Joyce Dill of Camden; two step-children, Sherri Benton and her husband Frank of Denton and Brooke Hastings of Denton. He was especially close to his step-grandchildren, Dylan Murphy, Colby Benton, Adam Benton, Kyle Benton, and Jill Benton. He is also survived by his Jack Russell, Gussie, who was his faithful companion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud Brown and Ronnie Brown. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second Street in Denton where friends may visit with the family from 1 until 2 before the service. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial donations in Steve's memory to either the Caroline Hospice Foundation, PO Box 362, Denton, MD 21629; or to the Caroline County Humane Society, 407 W. Bell St., Ridgely, MD 21660. For online condolences, please go to moorefuneralhomepa.com.
