HARRINGTON - Steven Paul Dear, of Harrington, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 1, 2014, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 58. Steve was born June 12,1956, in New Castle, Del.; to the late, Howard & Clara (Thompson) Dear. He had served proudly in the United States Army, and the United States Marine Corp. Steve worked most of his life as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Clark. Steve is survived by his three sons, Joshua Lee Dear, of Harrington, with whom he resided; Brian Howard Dear & his wife, Lisa, of Kansas City, Kansas; and Anthony Joseph Dear, of Lott, Texas; his step-mother, Elsie Dear, of Camden; two brothers, Buddy Dear, of Smyrna; & Robert Martin Dear, of Rising Sun; sister, Jamie Abdula, of Magnolia; a step-brother, Dale McConnell, of Townsend, and step-sister, Phyllis; eight grandchildren, Ashlee Dear, Ariel Ann Dear, LeLou Lyn Dear, Sydne Ann Dear, Anthony Joseph Dear, Jr., Juliann Marie Dear, Shawn William Dear & Matthew Joseph Dear, along with several nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will be held 12 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming; where family and friends may view from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
