Speros 'Buster' Kertiles, 79 DOVER - Speros "Buster" Kertiles, of Dover, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at home. He was 79. Mr. Kertiles was born April 14, 1929, in Dover to the late Nicholas Kertiles and Bona Vatick Kertiles. Mr. Kertiles was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. He was co-owner and operator with his brother Paul of the Town Tavern in Dover from 1955 until his retirement in 1998. Mr. Kertiles enjoyed bird watching and was avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Lou Kertiles on Oct. 21, 2005; and his sister, Harriet Fotias. He is survived by his stepchildren, Tom Baker III of Dover, Michael Landry of Westfield, Mass., Laurie Munion and her husband Bill of New Castle, and Julie Rawding of Dover; his brother, Paul Kertiles of Dover; his sister, Goldie Legates of Dover; three grandchildren, Amy Hufnell, Steven, and Jeremy Rawding; three great-grandchildren, Mason Hufnell, Alexis Rawding, and Caitlyn Rawding; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801. Letters of condolences may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
