Spencer E. "Pop" "Spec" Kelley, 78
MAGNOLIA - Spencer E. "Pop" "Spec" Kelley of Magnolia died Saturday, July 7, 2007, in his home. He was 78.
Mr. Kelley was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Galena, Md., son of the late John S. and Lillian Edwards Kelley.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving overseas in Europe, Asia and Africa during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired in 1969 with the rank of master sergeant.
Mr. Kelley was a foreman for Teal Construction, Dover, retiring in 1993. For 13 years, he volunteered with Bravo at the Dover Air Force Base Hospital.
Mr. Kelley was a member of Walter Fox American Legion Post 2 in Dover, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3238 in Camden and Moose Lodge 203 in Camden, where he was honorary governor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shelley Anne Kelley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen Arnold Kelley; two children, Carolyn K. Carter and Spencer A. Kelley, both of Magnolia; a sister, Geraldine Lockwood of Chesterville, Md.; four grandchildren, Jessica Everett, Courtney Jachimek, James Jachimek and Rebecca Carter; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Kelley, Kennedi Everett, Anthony Willing Jr. and Bradley Jachimek.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Massey Cemetery, Massey, Md.
