The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice is accepting applications for the 2023 Charlotte King Scholarship Program.
Awards of $1,000 will be given to 2023 graduating seniors from Sussex County who identify as Black and/or African American.
The essential criterion is a demonstrated concern for furthering racial understanding and justice.
The deadline is April 2.
Applications will be evaluated based on students’ written responses to two questions regarding their thoughts on race relations and their aspirations.
To be eligible, the applicant must be planning to continue his or her education beyond high school in the fall. Awards may be used at any qualifying institution, and there is no location requirement.
Students should submit applications electronically, along with their high school transcript and a letter of reference. The form is available at sdarj.org/scholarship-program.
Questions about the program or the application process should be addressed to sdarj.educmte@gmail.com.
