SMYRNA - Sophia M. Tracey of Smyrna died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, in Smyrna. She was 93.
She was born in Newberryport, Mass., and resided in Petersham, Mass., for many years.
Mrs. Tracey moved to Georgetown in 1955 and resided there for many years before moving to Smyrna in 1995.
She was a member of St. Polycarp Parish, Smyrna.
Mrs. Tracey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tracey; and her daughter, Ann Comstock.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Michele Coldiron; her husband, Ken, and their three daughters, Kristina, Alyson, and Chelsea, with whom she lived; her five children, Helen Bessette and her husband, Ernest, Joan Seyer, John Delargy and his wife, Peggy, Norene Whitely, and William Tracey and his wife, Linda; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Polycarp Roman Catholic Church, Ransom Lane and South Street, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior in the parish hall.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977; or Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Drive, Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713.
Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.
