Shirley Ruth Kemery, 67
GREENSBORO, Md. - Shirley Ruth Kemery of Greensboro died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2006, in the Memorial Hospital of Easton. She was 67.
Ms. Kemery was born April 13, 1939, in New Ringgold, Pa., daughter of the late Palmer E. and Birdie (Bowman) Kemery.
She attended Tamaqua High School, graduating in 1958.
Ms. Kemery worked at the Philly Bubble Gum Factory, and later worked for a garment factory in Pennsylvania. In 1974, she began working at Howard University as a secretary.
After residing in Brentwood, she moved to Greensboro in 2000.
Ms. Kemery was a member of the Caroline Adult Day Care, and regularly attended Denton Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Robert Kemery, Norman Kemery, Charles Kemery, Bertha Mason, Violet Kemery and Berdell Semmel.
She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Samuel and Crystal Hill of Greensboro; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra and Larry Miler of Lanham and Nancy and Richard Tejchman of Cambridge; four brothers, Leroy Kemery of Pennsylvania, Earl Kemery and Wayne Kemery, both of New Ringgold, and Paul Kemery of Bowmanstown, Pa.; three sisters Fern Bish of Temple, Texas, Tina Camarillo of Henderson, Nev., and Ruth Kemery of Jonestown, Pa.; five grandchildren, Lamina, Roshay, David, Larry Jr. and Sammy Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Marquise, Pete and Ayranna; an aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Washington National Cemetery, Suitland.
