GEORGETOWN - Shirley M. Arno passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Mrs. Arno was born in Orange County, Va. to the late Samuel and Nellie (Fletcher) Wade. She worked for the Sussex Community Crisis Housing. Shirley enjoyed watching TV, especially soap operas, Dancing with the Stars, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and Friday Night Smackdown.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her siblings, Wade Fletcher, Sam Kinzer, Helen Darling, William Allen Amos, and Warren Kinzer.
She is survived by her siblings, Marshall Fletcher, Barbara Kinzer, Mary Frances Fry; numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly; and numerous friends.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947. Masks required.
In lieu of flowers donations in Shirley's memory can be made to Tunnell Cancer Center c/o Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958 OR Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
