Shirley Francis, 63 DOVER - Very quietly and peacefully on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, gently closed the eyes of our beloved Shirley Francis. Mrs. Francis was born March 15, 1946, in Collinsville, Miss. She graduated from Middletown Attendance Center in Meridian, Miss. She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Elsmere, where she had been a dedicated employee. Shirley was joined in holy matrimony to Lee Francis on July 21, 1972. In addition to her father, Rev. Esau Lewis, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbra Johnson; and a brother, Charles Lewis. She is survived by her husband, Lee Francis; one daughter, Sherel Ott; her mother, Emma Lewis; two sisters, Rose Taylor (Monty), Felinda Boose; five brothers, Benjamin Lewis (Carol) of Willingboro, N.J., Jack Lewis (Pearl) of Orlando, Fla., Walter Lewis of Meridian, Miss., Perry Lewis (Diane) of Collinsville, Miss., Gregory Lewis (Flossie) of Philadelphia, Miss.; two granddaughters, Janai Bibbins-Johnson, Jasmine Bibbins-Johnson; brother-in-law, Marvin Francis (Anita) of Dover; sister-in-law, Diane Hollins of Landover, Md.; and a host of additional relatives and friends. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Saulsbury Road, Dover, with a viewing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Gardens, Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.benniesmithfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
