Serena W. Strock, 81

MILFORD - Serena W. Strock, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. She was 81. Mrs. Strock was born on Feb. 2, 1927 in Delhi, La., daughter of the late Jim C. and Pauline (Hudgins) Watson. She and her late husband owned and operated the Coatesville Boating Center in Coatesville, Pa., which specialized in outboard sales and service for 35 years, until retirement. Known to all her friends as "Cooter", she enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Mrs. Strock was a member of the Ladies of the Elks Lodge 2401 in Milford, where she held the position of Bible Guard, and was a member of the Milford Moose Lodge 2316, where she was a Green Cap. She was a member of the Cedar Neck Church in Milford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Strock in 2007; two brothers, Jim C. Watson Jr., and George Watson; and a great-grandson, Kevin Charles Bowen. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jean and Richard Bowen of Levittown, Pa., and Ann C. and Greg Waddington of New Holland, Pa.; a brother and two sisters-in-law, John H. and Lee Watson of Fort Worth, Texas, and Rita Watson of Delhi, La.; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Leroy Taylor of Shreveport, La.; and three grandchildren, John Charles and wife Jeannine Bowen, David Waddington, and Paul Waddington. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, where a Ladies of the Elks service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be held privately at the Honey Brook Presbyterian Cemetery in Honey Brook, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Milford Elks Lodge 2401, P.O. Box 119, Milford, DE 19963; the Milford Moose Lodge 2316, 20142 Beaver Dam Road, Milford, DE 19963; or the Cedar Neck Church, Cedar Beach Road, Milford.
