DOVER, Del. - Schuyler Gwilym Anderson passed away at home after a long illness on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was born on November 25, 1951, in Crane, Texas, son of the late Orville Francis Sr. and Gessye Sylvia (Pacheco) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a graduate of the Carrizozo High School, in Carrizozo, New Mexico. He went on to attend Austin College, finally moving on to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Mexico. He worked as a dining room manager at the Blue Coat Inn and then pursued building a lifelong career for the State of Delaware as a Corporate Specialist, in the Division of Corporations, from where he retired in December of 2020.
Mr. Anderson's true passion was for the culinary arts. He was an excellent chef and enjoyed sharing his culinary delights while entertaining friends. Over the years, Mr. Anderson managed to accumulate an impressive collection of cookbooks, kitchen gadgets and cookware. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted spouse and friend. Mr. Anderson will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his husband, Thomas G. Smith of Dover, Del.; his sister, Tanya Turner of Wylie, Texas; his sister-in-law, Meehris McGlaughlin of Pot Nets, Del.; his nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Bill and Marsha Holler of Dover, Del.
Final care for Mr. Anderson has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, Del.
