Sarah Lorraine Daniels Pickens

Sarah Lorraine Daniels Pickens, 65 FELTON - Sarah Lorraine Daniels Pickens, of Felton, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at home. She was 65. Mrs. Pickens was born Sept. 7, 1944, in West Rutland, Vt., to the late Adrian Daniels and Anna Bradley Daniels. She spent most of her life in Lawrence, Mass., and had worked in a shoe factory and in the apple orchards and moved to Dover in 1998. Mrs. Pickens enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Camden - Wyoming Moose Lodge. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Pickens; her brother, Harold Daniels; and two sisters, Elizabeth Leonard and Edna Kenner. She is survived by two sons, Roger Pickens Jr. of Worchester, Mass., and Shane Pickens of Bridgeville; three daughters, Joan Pickens of Dover, Virginia Lagasse of Lawrence, Mass., and Priscilla Pickens of Milford; her brother, John Daniels of Becket, Mass.; a sister, Jessie Belanger of Lawrence, Mass.; nine grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Alvinza and Madiline Pickens of Camden; and nephew, Wayne Pickens and his wife Melissa of Camden. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday evening. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown, In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Camden – Wyoming Moose Lodge #203, 760 Moose Lodge Road, Camden – Wyoming, DE 19934; or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or The American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
