DOVER - Sarah I. Seward, of Dover, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, at her home with family Dover. She was 89.
She was born on June 1, 1919, in Frederica, to Harry and Blanche Baker Clendaniel.
Mrs. Seward was a member of Trinity Weslyan Church Dover. She joined the church choir at the age of 16.
She started teaching Sunday School and working with the children and youth for about 40 years at the church.
Mrs. Seward married her husband Frederick in May 1, 1942.
They built and rented homes in the Delaware area.
After retiring they spent 18 winters at Weslyan Village Retirement Center in Brookeville, Fla.
Mrs. Seward was also a member of the Dover Modern Maturity Center in Dover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Seward in 2003; brothers, Milton and Benjamin Clendaniel; sister, Irene Legar; and brother-in-law, James Tribbitt.
Mrs. Seward is survived by a brother, John Clendaniel of Dover; and a sister, Mildred Tribbitt of Dover.
Celebration of life services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity Wesleyan Church, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.
Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Trinity Weslyan Church, 1564 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901.
