Sara Jane Ellis

MILLINGTON, Md. - Sara J. Ellis, of Millington, Md., died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, in the Christiana Med. Center, Newark. She was 79. Mrs. Ellis was born in Logan, W.Va., the daughter of the late Richard and Merlie Chambers Gray. Mrs. Ellis was a Seamstress and worked for many years for the East Winds Manufacturing Co. in Clayton, Del. Mrs. Ellis and her husband of 68 years, Forest "Frank" Ellis have made Millington there home since 1970. Mrs. Ellis enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, reading and spending time with her children and especially her grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, one brother, and two sisters. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ellis is survived by three sons, Allen Ellis of Outer Banks, N.C., Bruce Ellis of Galena, Md., and Richard Ellis of Cheswold; two daughters, Marsha Coleman of Smyrna, Del., and Thelma Ellis of Massey, Md. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Vance of Waynesboro, Va., Ernestine Stallings of Chapmanville, W.Va., and Susie Farley of Orlando, Fla.; and 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress. St. Millington, Md., where friends and family may call after 6 p.m. A private interment will be in the Asbury Cemetery, Millington, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Millington Vol. Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, P.O.
