Sandra L. Neal, 61

CLAYTON - Sandra L. Neal, of Clayton, passed away at home Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009. She was 61. Sandra was born July 24, 1947, in Clayton, the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Blanchfield Burris. She worked as a barber's assistant at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna for several years before retiring due to disability. Her hobbies included shopping and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Neal; a grandson, John; and a nephew, Jason Burris. She is survived by a son, Greg Neal and his wife Jennifer of Smyrna; two brothers, Walter Burris and his wife Darlene of Blackbird, and Wesley Burris and his wife Ginger of Smyrna; two sisters, Pat McGinnis and her husband Paul of Hartly, and Linda Atkin and her husband Adam of Kenton; six grandchildren, D.J., Amber, Brandon, Carien, Erin and Amanda; four nieces, four nephews; a daughter-in-law, Aurora of Dover, and Robert W. Neal. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
