Samantha Elizabeth 'Sam' Brown, 17

SEAFORD - Samantha Elizabeth "Sam" Brown of Seaford died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in an automobile accident near Seaford. She was 17.

Sam was a senior at Seaford Senior High School. She was active in the Key Club and student government, and played field hockey and other sports.

She loved to play the violin, piano and flute.

She was active in the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a lifeguard at the Seaford Golf & Country Club.

Sam had a great heart and a great spark.

She is survived by her parents, Thomas E. and Pegeen T. Brown; a sister, Anne C. Brown; her maternal grandmother, Helen E. O'Neill of Baltimore; and her paternal grandmother, Bertha M. Brown of Baltimore.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Highway, Seaford.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. this evening in the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St., Seaford.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, c/o Renee Morris, 801 Middleford Road, Seaford, DE 19973.
