She was born Aug. 24, 1930 in Berlin, Md., the daughter of the late John W. and Bertha A. West. She retired after many years of service as a CNA at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She had also been a caregiver to many in the Smyrna-Clayton communities for many years. Mrs. Ogden was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clayton Fire Company, and enjoyed going to the beach. The most important thing in her life was her grandchildren and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William T. Ogden; nine brothers; and one sister. She is survived by five sons, William R. (Sharon) Ogden; Gary T. Ogden; Donald W. (Dawn); Barry Ogden; Brooks (Debbie) Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna (Walt) Dennis. She is also survived by her 'adopted' children: Karen Gebhart; Timothy Wilhoit; and Kevin Wall. The family wished to extend a special thank you to Debbie Dickerson and Lois Poppitt of Compassionate Care Hospice; and to Matt and Bill of Lincare. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 2, 2015 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Compassionate Care Hospice, 201 E. DuPont Blvd., Millsboro, DE 19966; or to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clayton Fire Co., PO Box 674, Clayton, DE 19938. To sign the online guestbook, please visit www.matthewsbryson.com.
