Ruth V. Lawson

DOVER - Ruth V. Lawson, 75, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover, after a long illness. She was born on Sept. 13, 1935, in Wilmington, to Ruth Davis Burris and the late Harvey Spruance Davis. Ruth is retired from Kent General Hospital in the food services. She enjoyed being with family and watching the soaps on TV. She loved her dog "Tink." She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Lawson. She is survived by son and his wife, John E. and Cindy Lawson of Clayton; son and his wife, Chris B. and Jessie Lawson of Townsend; daughter and her husband, Sharon and Ron Testerman of Havre de Grace, Md.; daughter and her husband, Ronda and Earl Lloyd of Chestertown, Md.; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; mother, Ruth V. Davis Burris of New Castle; brother, Ron Burris of Bear; brother, Glenn Burris of Dover; sister, Eleanor Loveless of New Castle; and sister, Beverly Davis of Bear. Graveside Services and Burial will be 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington DC 20004.
