Ruth (Rust) Spicer, 92

SEAFORD - Ruth (Rust) Spicer of Seaford died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, in Lofland Life Care, Seaford. She was 92.

She was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Bridgeville, daughter of the late Luther and Blanche (Truitt) Rust.

Mrs. Spicer had been employed by the DuPont Co., for more than 30 years, retiring as a quality control analyst.

She was active with the 4-H Club.

Mrs. Spicer graduated from Bridgeville High School, where she was captain of the basketball team.

She is survived by her sister, Irene Tucker of Greenwood; her niece, Debbie R. Malliarakis of Newport News, Va.; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Spicer, in 1979.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Interment will follow at Bridgeville Cemetery.

The Rev. Dale Brown will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Union United Methodist Church, Laws & Market streets, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
